Harley Street Group has developed a health risk assessment system specifically for healthcare professionals wishing to evaluate the effects of stress, lifestyle and medical conditions on autonomic balance.
The assessment is quick and easy and involves a brief lifestyle questionnaire and a 5-minute Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measurement, which is taken via wrist sensor and bespoke laptop. The system can be operated by professionals and is supported by a powerful on-line data management system for advanced analysis of data on an individual and group basis.
HRV is an indicator of the activity and balance of the body’s autonomic nervous system, which is affected by excessive physical or mental demand. The Personal Assessment is a probe for tension or imbalance of the autonomic nervous system, with operational functionality orientated toward the detection of stress in supposedly healthy individuals in the workplace or at screening clinics.
- The individual is scored in one of four health risk zones, which indicates how well the body is coping with physical and mental demands
- The higher up the scale the better the functioning of the body’s autonomic nervous system and the lower the health risk
- The lower the score the greater the degree of lifestyle improvement recommended
